“Success is in the Journey”
A program like this doesn’t happen over night, It takes a lot of different individuals with different abilities to make it work. In March 2006 Big Five Community Services opened it’s first Re-Run Junction Thrift Shop In McAlester, Oklahoma, and in doing so began to open new doors of growth and opportunity to the clients we serve.
Having a developmental disability does not mean no ability, just the opposite. We truly believe that every person has ability, and through this program each individuals personal ability and talents are blended to form successful results.
Rarely do you find employees so excited about their job. Not only because they are making their own money, but because with the support provided each person is recognized for His or Her own ability, Not held back by a disability.
Thanks to this and other programs our dream of total inclusion will someday soon be a reality!
